Grazie a Matteo Redolfi di Atleticatriveneta.it, giunge la triste notizia della scomparsa del 25enne etiope Alemayehu Shumye Tafere, la causa del decesso è stata un incidente stradale avvenuto venerdì sera nella capitale dell'Etiopia Addis Abeba.La notizia a Redolfi è giunta direttamente dal manager dell'atleta.
Il giovane Alemayehu era noto in Italia dove aveva corso diverse volte, lo ricordo personalmente nel 2010 vittorioso a Navazzo (BS) nella "10 miglia del Garda" (foto a destra). In Italia ha corso anche alla Maratona del Riso di Vercelli nel 2009, alla Stralivigno 2010, alla Maratona di Udine nel 2011 e ad Agordo.
Nel 2012 ha ottenuto altri ottimi risultati non elencati nella tabella sottostante come la vittoria alla Gold Coast Marathon in Australia in 2h10'35", ed un 9° posto alla Paris Marathon in 2h09'09".
